- I love Jesus' exasperation with their rules over life & healing. (At least, I read it that way.)

- So much healing and power, and he has that now when he's with us, and we have that same power within us.

- The kingdom of God belongs to the poor. <3 God favours the poor.

- The fact that Jesus came for the poor and hungry and mourning, that God came to reach out and offer astonishing blessing to those who needed him, that that's who he chose to offer the kingdom to. Like, I am not even great at putting this into words, but <3

- Are the woes bc they got rich/full/happy at the cost of others' oppression/bc when the system is dismantled they will not have their privileges/bc prophesying the Fall of Jerusalem? Aside from being rich, I don't think being full or happy is wrong unless the cause of fullness/happiness is bad?

- Regardless of trickiness w/r/t expecting people to be kind to their oppressors and/or abusers (and there's definitely scope for saying that Jesus meant this in a passive resistance shows your huamnity, while violent reaction wil likely harm you more than them kind of way), this certainly applies to me in the sense of being kind to friends when they aren't as loving as I'd like them to be, or don't treat me the way I'd hope.

- & 'lend, expecting nothing in return', although I expect it'll be hard to internalise that.

- Following these instructions will help us in hard times - but is the flood referred to in the parable the Fall of Jerusalem?
