- I don't know if this is adding more personal detail to the 'teaching from a boat' story or if it's a different story entirely.

- I don't know if the healing of the paralysed man implies that forgiveness of sins is more important than healing (and sin is super-destructive and life-destroying, esp. when built into oppressive systems, and the whole purpose of his ministry was linked w/ forgiveness of sins (& freedom & the kingdom of God)), and I guess I can agree w/ that if we're including oppressive systems as sin? But if it also implies that the sickness was because of sin that is :///

- Oh, the old wine/new wine parable, and the new ways not fitting into the old systems is p. cool/lovely. It's also interesting that people would prefer the old covenant - and Jesus' saying that doesn't necessarily mean the old ways are better, just that people can be nostalgic and prefer to stick to their ways. We see it everywhere w/r/t everything from music to politics, and the past often has massive flaws that we ignore bc ~golden age~.
