- Wait, Jesus went to grieve for John, I never noticed that before.

- And he still had compassion when he saw the great crowd, and healed their sick.

- He even wanted them to stay, performing miracles so they could stay.

- Oh, wait, no, he still dismissed them and went alone to pray.

- Jesus does some seriously extreme miracles in this passage - he has power over nature (don't know how this relates to Romans 8 and ature groaning in wait - is C.S. Lewis right, will nature be more like this, astonishing and miraculous and powerful?). I don't know if it's mirroring Old Testament narratives or not - none match exactly.

- 'Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid' is lovely and comforting.

- And the fact that he immediately reached out his hand when Peter called.

- Possibly these miracles are proving deity?

- There is so, so much healing. Healing was such a major part of his ministry.
