- Oh, I guess this is Jesus extrapolating on what he means by righteousness and obeying the Law? In that we need to love, not hold onto the more alarming and outdated laws in their original form.

- 'liable to the Gehenna of fire' is alarming?

- I don't know how to take the verses on Hell. If they're about Gehenna, are they about suffering in this life? And thrown into Gehenna, the rubbish pit, does imply that? Life being destroyed because of anger or lust. I don't know.

- No oaths because we don't have a right to oaths? I know some people view this in the context of allegiance to things other than God, but I can't see that contextually (I may be missing things).

- The 'love your enemies' verse and the social context of passive resistance for 'turn the other cheek' and the following verses (Walter Wink, guys, I'm pretty sure Wikipedia has notes on his views on the 'turn the other cheek' page) is kind of wonderful? In that, stand up against your enemies, you are a being of worth and you deserve dignity, but at the same time remember their humanity. Although it can also be taken as advice to oppressors - treat those you see as lower than you fairly and with love.

- The free giving of money and borrowing is lovely and Communist.
