- When God heals Israel, their sin will go away, and so will Samaria’s evil.

- The rulers are angry.

- God says he wants to save them, but at the same time is threatening countless punishments. They can’t be saved because they’ve spoken lies against God, apparently.

- Israel honestly sounds more sympathetic than evil - the rulers drink until they’re sick, the people lie on their beds and cry.

- God trains us and gives us strength.

- God wanting control, God loathing the things they choose over him, bitter.

- Endless prediction of unhappiness.

- Why re-enslave them, how is that radical freeing God?

- Oh, the Memphis/tombs thing (pointed out by my ever-decaying Youth Bible) is very cool! (As in, Memphis was famous for tombs/Memphis will bury them.)

- They now seem hateful where once they had seemed lovely, because they displeased God. We can see people in that distorted way - good when they please us and bad when they don't.

- Their hatred is deep and they think prophets fools and the spiritual mad.

- Killing their children is a) extremely cruel, and b) contradicts what you said through Ezekiel.

- More hopelessness and predictions of doom.
