- God loved the Jewish people because they were oppressed?

- God thought they were beautiful? Spiritually or...I'm not sure what other sense it can mean?

- God is so angry and everything is an offense to Him.

- On the other hand, the passage about sacrificing their children sounds genuinely moving and God-as-heartbroken. Whether this is my perspective influencing my reading of the text I don't know.

- This is slut-shaming/discriminatory against sex workers.

- It's weird and disturbing and jealous. The fact that this metaphor is used to shame...

- And sexual violence. And murder, like an abusive husband.

- Oh, naming the sin of Sodom as non-sexual. Which sounds like the sin of many wealthy nations.

- God will return good things to Sodom and Samaria? That's hopeful.

- They will all return to what they were and be given back good things, that's lovely? The rest is fucked up, but.

- An agreement that will last forever is good, too, although God's motives for forgiveness are frankly highly suspect.
